Jim Grek, PE, MSE

As Principal Engineer for Stress Analysis Solutions, I have over 20 years
experience in mechanical and structural analysis, calculations and design.

My background is a strong mix of both mechanical and structural engineering.
 I have earned a
Master's Degree from Purdue University in Engineering
Structural Mechanics and
Bachelor's of Science in Mechanical Engineering
from Marquette University. I am a
Licensed Professional Mechanical Engineer
with field experience in both structural and heavy mechanical.  I have also
earned a
Master's Degree in Business Administration from Keller Graduate
School.

In the past, I had been responsible for engineering, checking and approving
lifting devices for General Motors diesel locomotive division where I worked
on nearly 500 different varieties of lifting devices, providing stress
calculations and PE approvals of the devices.

For several years, I worked as a field plant engineer, responsible for
engineering and installation of concrete foundations, cranes, and floor slabs
as well as other projects ranging from building roofs to underground sewer
systems and everything in between.  It was a great experience across many
aspects of project work and engineering.

I have also served as Chief Engineer for a leading engineering consulting
company for six years, responsible for the integrity and functionality of
structures and machinery throughout many industries, as well as managing
personnel and projects.

S.A.S. currently consults with several companies on crane runway related
projects as well as machine foundation designs and heavy equipment
designs.   With our current customers, I act as both an engineering and
project management consultant, assisting my customers with technical issues
as well as day-to-day management.

I was fortunate to spend the early years of my career as a machinery and
structural detailer and 'board' designer -- well before the advent of CAD.
Most notably, I spent four years in high speed machinery design for the food
and pharmaceutical industries.  This included high speed slicing, forming and
cutting equipment as well as conveying and heavy machine drive systems.

Joe Grek, Director of CAD Solutions

As CAD Services director, I have over 15 years of experience in computer
aided design, project management, and field engineering.

My background is a mix of mechanical, structural, and electrical engineering.
I received training in Industrial Engineering from the University of Illinois and
Purdue University.

In the past, I was a Project Manager and Mechanical Designer  for a leading
engineering consulting firm.  I actively worked on designs for over 200 below
the hook lifting devices.  I was responsible for managing designs and
resources, field engineering, and all customer communications.  In 1999, I
was awarded
Project Manager of the Year.

I have taught AutoCAD training classes at an accredited design and drafting
school, with a strong background in the use of AutoCAD.  I first learned
AutoCAD in 1991, and have seen the evolution of the program over the years.

I have also served at an industry leading dust solution firm for six years,
managing a product line, as well as acting as a mechanical designer and
Chief Drafter.  I gained experience in electrical design, fluid and air flow, and
pumping systems.
